Overview
Jelan has successfully represented clients in both state and federal court proceedings throughout Texas. She primarily focuses on representing insurers regarding all aspects of insurance coverage and extra-contractual litigation.

Jelan has a diverse background that includes litigating complex, multi-party insurance coverage actions involving bad faith claims handling disputes, duty to defend and duty to indemnify disputes, loss of business income, and additional insured coverage issues. She also regularly provides clients with advice about policy interpretation and best practices.

Jelan graduated from the University of Houston Law Center and began her legal career at a well-known personal injury trial firm, where she represented clients with catastrophic injuries. She later advanced to managing attorneys and staff, which she trained and mentored. Jelan later transitioned to insurance coverage, where she excels in representing carriers in both first- and third-party disputes that require policy interpretation and application, as well as the formulation of defense strategies to reach the most optimal outcome for clients. Among other things, Jelan has worked on $100 million towers of coverage in matters involving school districts and hospital system and successfully resolved matters through dismissals and other winning motions.
